Colts Fan Fest to aid flood victims in Morgan County
July 7th, 2008 12:33 PM

COLTS FAN FEST TO FEATURE COLTS PLAYERS, CHEERLEADERS AND FREE CONCERT TO BENEFIT FLOOD VICITIMS OF MORGAN COUNTY – FRIDAY, JULY 11TH

WHAT: Colts Fan Fests began as a celebration of the 25th Season of Indianapolis Colts Football and the grand opening of Lucas Oil Stadium. The Indianapolis Colts, the United Way of Central Indiana and the Martinsville Chamber of Commerce will now host an additional Fan Fest in Martinsville, featuring a FREE community concert, to benefit the flood victims of Morgan County. The Colts will match up to $10,000 raised at the Martinsville Fan Fest. “Hoosiers have always stepped up when times get tough,” Colts Owner and Chief Executive Officer Jim Irsay said. Please visit www.Colts.com/FanFest for more information.

WHEN: Friday, July 11th 5:00 PM

WHERE: Martinsville High School

1360 East Gray Street

Martinsville, IN 46151

WHO: Colts Players, Cheerleaders and a FREE community concert

Fan Fest elements include a “Colts City” set up with inflatables, meet and greets with Colts players, cheerleaders, Air Blue and a free concert. Fans may also participate in the “Books for Youth” book drive by donating new or gently used children’s books, register their kids for the Colts Kids Club, register-to-win tickets to a Colts pre-season game, pick up free Colts giveaways and experience the re-designed Colts In Motion traveling museum.

Raffle tickets for a Colts VIP experience, which includes four sideline tickets to a Colts home game, limo ride to and from the game and a steak dinner, are available at the Fan Fest as well as at the Martinsville Chamber/United Way office located at 109 East Morgan Street, Martinsville. Those interested in purchasing raffle tickets for the Colts VIP experience may also call (765) 342-8110.

ESPN the magazine recently honored the Indianapolis Colts as the number one franchise of the top four pro sports. This ranking is based upon numerous factors including how teams give back to the fans. “What better way to bring Colts fans together than with a festival-like environment and a free concert,” said Tom Zupancic, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Indianapolis Colts. “We provide hundreds of free events for our fans every year. Colts Fan Fests is our way of giving back to our fans to thank them for their continued support. We want our fans all across the state to be able to touch the Colts franchise in their own backyards,” said Zupancic.

“A special “Thank You” to the Indianapolis Colts for making possible the Fan Fest that will allow our residents, and those affected by the flood disaster, to come together and enjoy fun, fellowship, relaxation and entertainment during this festive event. Bring your entire family to enjoy the Colts Fan Fest! Go Colts!” said the Honorable Phil Deckard, Mayor of Martinsville.

“United Way of Central Indiana certainly values the NFL and United Way partnership that has been in place for 25 years. The Indianapolis Colts are an inspiration to people by giving back to local communities and people in a time of crisis. This event will benefit the flood victims through our flood relief fund for Morgan County. Thank you goes out to the Colts for coming to Martinsville in a time of hope and needed generosity,” said Susie Friend, United Way of Central Indiana, Interim Area Director for Morgan County/Area Director Hendricks County.

Special notes:

The Colts would like to encourage all fans to arrive early and to bring lawn chairs to watch the concert. The line for player and cheerleader autographs may be cut off at any time to ensure the Players schedule remains on time. Inclement weather or traffic may cause late arrival or early departure. All Fan Fests will take place rain or shine. Team practice schedules and meeting times may cause players to arrive late or depart early. Colts player names will not be announced prior to the arrival in each city. Fans will be allowed one autograph per person, however fans may get back in line for additional autographs. All Colts Fan Fest times are local.
